If you had to choose one experience that was the most crucial for you during your stay, what would it be and why?

  • The most crucial for me was participation in the Central European Feminist School 2019. I wanted to participate in the project to be ready to engage in feminist activism even more. And during the project it was very important for me that I was feeling that I belonged in the community and that I can express my opinions, and also my hardest experiences connected with being subjected to the toxic masculinity. I felt that I was supported and understood.

What did the internship bring you?

  • It brought me connections with other people and exchange of experiences. It was also very valuable, because I learned how the NGOs work, and what is needed for it to run, how it can be financed etc. I also learned to work better under time pressure.

What kind of gender topic attracted you most and why?

  • The topics related to gender sensitive education as well as connection with gender related issues and other problems (intersectionality), as well as the life and presence of transgender people in the society. I think education is very important, because it shapes how the world will look like, and there are still many deficits in education program and it's quality, it is not equal. The intersectionality interest me because I can see that many issues we have in our society are interconnected. I think that I'm interested in transgender people because I think they are marginalized and they have very difficult experiences in the society, and I admire their resilience and resistance.

Why would you recommend an internship in Nora?

  • I would recommend the internship because it is a great opportunity to learn new things, to connect with similar-minded people. It comforts me that I am not alone in the struggle. I also think that the NGOs like Nora have great potential to change the world for better.
