International women's day 2018
We celebrated 100 years since the foundation of Czechoslovakia and 110 years since the strike of New York seamstresses, which established the tradition of International Women's Day.
here were performances by artists Kachi Olivová, Adéla Venturová and NEWkus group from FaVU Body Design Studio.
We swung with Petra & Hanka from Czech lindy hoppers. They showed us "how to do it" and they taught us Charleston. Well, how do you get to the Republican mood faster? Tell me, what quicker way is there to get into the mood of the first republic?
We remembered important places in the center of Brno connected with the women's movement and selected feminist personalities active before 1918. And thanks to the posters from the graphic designer Marie Zandálková, these women were made visible and became a entrenched part of the city of Brno.
We were guided through the feminist walk of Brno by the historian Hana Krutílková.
